SSC's Keefer hits walk-off single to lift Cardinals in home opener

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NE (KTIV) -

South Sioux City's Karter Keefer hit a two-out, walk-off single to life South Sioux City past Thurston-Cuming 1-0 Saturday afternoon at Voss Field.

Thunder pitcher Caleb Hansen took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but gave up a single to South Sioux's Jake Schmiedt.

Cardinal righty Scott Manley tossed six inning and gave up just four hits.

With no score and two outs, Hansen walked Lane Bernstrauch and gave up a single to Devin Baush before Keefer laced an 0-2 pitch into right.

South Sioux City improves to 1-1, while Thurston-Cuming falls to 0-1 on the year.
