Roy Devin Marble is averaging 25 ppg. in the NIT.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Iowa will play in Madison Square Garden in the NIT semifinals for the first time in school history when the Hawkeyes battle Maryland Tuesday night in New York City.
Iowa is making quite the case for being an NCAA Tournament team, earning double-digit wins over quality opponents through the first three games of the NIT.
Much of the Hawkeyes success has come with the play of junior Roy Devin Marble, who is averaging better than 25 points per game in the tournament.
"The way he gets his points is so efficient," Head Coach Fran McCaffery said after the teams win over Virginia. "He's not a pig. It's not like Marble's got it, he's going to shoot it. He's going to make a play. He's going to drive and if there is nothing there he's going to move it on. He's not going to do something crazy."
The Hawkeyes and Terps tip off around 9:00 p.m. central time on Tuesday. The game can be seen on ESPN2.
