NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -

As a Siouxland man prepares to go on trial for felony assault and weapons charges, new details about the victim of the alleged crime came to light in court, Tuesday.

The felony assault trial of 28-year old Jordan Beehn of Madison, Nebraska, has been delayed. Beehn waived his right to a speedy trial in Madison County District Court, Tuesday.

He's accused of shooting Jorge Zepeda-Flores in the face during an altercation outside a Norfolk nightclub in November. Madison County prosecutors say the shooting left Zepeda-Flores paralyzed, and with difficulty communicating verbally.

Beehn was originally scheduled to go on trial next week, but that's now been continued to June 17th.
