Folks enjoyed "Wine & Chocolate" at the annual fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association - Big Sioux Chapter, in Le Mars, Thursday night.
At the Willow Creek Golf Club, the event featured a live and silent auction, five-course meal and nine different wines, with eight of the winemakers present.
"This year's theme for our Wine and Chocolate is "I'll Never Forget That I Love You," so our symbol this year is the mighty elephant who always remembers and never forgets. It helps symbolize the love that caregivers have for their loved ones who are afflicted with this terrible disease," said Emily Lord, Manager of Education and Outreach.
Right now, there are 5.4 million people in the U.S. with Alzheimer's, and 69,000 of them live in Iowa.
"Wine & Chocolate" continues Friday night with another event, at the Sioux City Country Club.
All of the money raised during the two-day event will stay in the community.
