Reynolds waiting for King's next move on senate seat
Iowa Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds says she's waiting for Rep. Steve King to make his decision on the open senate seat by the end of the month.
SANBORN, Iowa (KTIV) -
Iowa Republicans are looking for a candidate to run for Democratic Senator Tom Harkin's seat.
Since returning from a trip to Asia, Iowa Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds says she's already had discussions with Congressman Steve King and Ag Secretary Bill Northey about who could run for the open seat. All three have expressed interest.
"It's a really important decision and it's an opportunity because you don't often have an open senate seat very often. I know Steve is gathering information, Secretary Northey is gathering information, as well as myself," said Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, (R) Iowa.
Reynolds says she's waiting for King to make his decision at the end of the month.
