Antique lovers flock to Hawkeye Downs

Antiques lovers flocked to Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids Sunday. It was the 53rd Midwest Antique Show.

110 vendors from around the country brought in their goods. The show is known for its emphasis on Americana and antiques from the 18th and 18th centuries.

The Collector's Eye collectable antiques show, focusing on items from the 1890s through 1950s, was also going on. The two shows allowed antique lovers to find treasures from any era.

"They're important because they're attractive pieces of art to decorate your home with plus they're great investments," said Tom Rawson, show promoter.

The Midwest Antique Show happens twice a year and brings in more than 1,200 people to each show.
