Flood recovery continues as more buildings are demolished

Cedar Rapids crews continue to demolish residential and commercial buildings as the city continues to recover from the floods of 2008.

On Monday land along 1st Ave. West, where Blimpie Subs and Salads once stood, was bulldozed over.

The city has already demolished more than 1,700 structures. 39 residential and 12 commercial buildings are scheduled to be demolished between now and May 31, 2013.
