MOVILLE, Iowa (KTIV) -

Several bridges in Woodbury County could be primed for repairs this year.

After the board of supervisors approved a budget that included a $4 million increase to $13.6 million, Woodbury County engineer Mark Nahra says several bridges in rural areas are slated for repairs.

One bridge in rural Moville will be widened, and will also have a higher weight limit. Many of these repairs are designed to help make travel easier for farmers.

"This is to take care of some of those bridges that are on a gravel road system that are essential links in our road system," said Nahra.

Four bridges are scheduled for repairs in 2014. Two larger ones will be up the next year. Fourteen extra bridges will be repaired over the next five years.
