NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD (KTIV) -

There's a tie in the race for North Sioux City city council Ward 1.

Incumbent Clarence VerDoorn, and Robert Kistler, each earned 32 votes in Tuesday's election.

The city's finance officer says once the vote is certified, during next Monday's city council meeting, the winner will be declared by "drawing lots."

There's a clear winner in Ward 2, where Sharie Leitru earned 35 votes to defeat Lesa Cropley, who got 28 votes. Both were incumbents put into the same ward by the 2010 census.
