SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

The National Weather Service reports precipitation at the Sioux Gateway Airport totaled 2.33 inches on Tuesday.

This breaks the previous record for the date of 1.41 inches set in 1913.

This is also the wettest April day on record, breaking the record of 2.10 inches in 1922.

KTIV Meteorologist Riley O'Connor says there should be a break in precipitation in on Wednesday Morning.

But expect redevelopment in the late afternoon into Wednesday night of snow and a wintry mix.
