Bishop Heelan senior Lauren Brobst signs her letter of intent to play volleyball with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- -
On Tuesday, two Bishop Heelan volleyball players signed NCAA Division one letters of intent to play volleyball at South Dakota. Another Crusader has signed to play at The University of Iowa.
Lauren Brobst will be a Hawkeye next season. She led Heelan in kills and blocks last season. Her 109 blocks were the second highest total in Class 4A.
Brobst says she's always wanted to play at Iowa, who's trying to rebuild after finishing last in the Big Ten last season at 2-18.
"It's always been a dream to go the next level. With Iowa I get to go play against some of the best players in the nation," said Brobst. "They really like to work with their athletes and that's one of the reasons I picked it. They're really close. It's kind of a close knit family."
