STARS holds rummage and horse tack sale

A Sioux City organization is holding a rummage sale this weekend with a wide selection of household goods and horse tack.

The Special Troopers Adaptive Riding School, or S.T.A.R.S., kicked off a two day rummage filled with horse tack, furniture and household items.

All of the proceeds will benefit the S.T.A.R.S. Therapeutic Riding Programs.

The programs assist individuals with disabilities and allow participants to gain body strength while learning to horseback ride.

"It's such a fun and unique way to provide the therapy, that those who participate in the program really don't have any idea that this is what we are doing for them, and it's really helping them make them better," said Stacy Pederson, Executive Director of S.T.A.R.S.

The rummage continues Saturday morning at 8:00, and lasts until noon.
