Heart Walk fills the halls of Le Mars High School

LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) -

Supporters filled Le Mars Public High School for the Plymouth and Sioux County annual Heart Walk, Saturday.

Participants walked the halls of the high school in support of heart health.

Many of the walkers participated to show support for loved ones.

For some families, the support and donations really hit close to home.

"Research and development is so important, so we are excited to be able to raise money to help the research; also, to help people live healthier lives," said Judy Delperdang.

"The community support is important because, had we not had the community support the road that we were on, would be extremely lonely," added Amanda De Koster.

Organizers met their goal of raising of $45,000, and donations will be accepted through June 1st.
