A Historic 4th Street business is hosting its own clean-up walk downtown in celebration of Earth Month.
Every year, Body and Soul Salon and Spa employees walk to raise awareness for Aveda's clean water campaign.
However, this year they're doing more than just walking. They also plan to clean up the city's streets and sidewalks when they pound the pavement next Sunday.
The clean-up walk starts in front of the salon and will take volunteers from Gordon Drive to 11th Street and Floyd to Pearl.
"We decided, since we're all gathering together, we should do something productive for our city at the same time, which is why we do the clean-up," said Body & Soul Salon and Spa owner Katie Lockridge.
Over six years, Aveda has raised more $20-million during Earth month.
To donate your time, meet at the corner of 4th and Court Streets on April 28th. Clean-up will take place from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
You can also donate to the clean water campaign through a text or online.
For every five dollars you donate you'll be entered to win products and services from the salon.
To donate online: crowdrise.com search Body & Soul Sioux City IA and donate with a credit or debit card.
To text a donation: Text cleanwater DFA to 85944, and text "yes" to confirm.
