If there is a name that should get you excited about Iowa State football heading into the fall, it's DeVondrick Nealy.
The third year back looked impressive in the Cyclones spring finale rushing 18 times for 142 yards and a touchdown.
Nealy saw action in all 13 games last season for the Cardinal and Gold rushing for 81 yards.
After an impressive spring, he'll likely be in contention for the starting job along with James White.
"If I was to say, what group, if one position had the best spring, I would probably say the running back position," Head Coach Paul Rhoads said. "DeVondrick Nealy running like we thought he was capable of. Going into his third season, it's very encouraging to see."
"We're just taking advantage of every opportunity," Nealy added. "That's all we can do. There's a lot of talent in our back field this year. A lot better than last year, so just take advantage of every opportunity you can get."
The Cyclones open the season against Northern Iowa on August 31.
