Investigators question accused bomber in hospital; victims mourned

One week after an annual springtime rite in Boston was shattered by a pair of explosions that killed three people and injured more than 170, including some who lost legs, shock and fear gave way to grief and healing as memorials were scheduled to remember those lost.

Gov. Deval Patrick, Mayor Thomas Menino, and charitable organization One Fund Boston called for a minute of silence in Boston and across the Commonwealth at 2:50 p.m. on Monday.

The White House announced that President Obama would observe the minute of silence as well.
