UPDATE: Prosecutors continued calling witnesses in day two of testimony in the murder trial of Ashley Cameron

ONAWA, Iowa (KTIV) -

Did Ashley Cameron tell investigators the truth about what happened the night her son drowned in the days after his death?

Police officers took the stand Wednesday, testifying that the Onawa, Iowa mother changed her story several times over the course of the investigation.

Her final story, according to investigators that 15-month-old Markis Dahms threw up prompting her to hold his face under the bathtub faucet five or six times.

Assistant Police Chief Jim Fouts testified Wednesday, that after Cameron made that statement, she thanked investigators for letting her tell the truth.

Cameron's lawyers say she left the boy unattended in the bathtub, and that he fell face-first into the water.

We'll hear more from Fouts coming up on News 4 at six from Kristen Johnson who has been covering the trial.
