President Obama travels to West, Texas to honor those killed in last week's fertilizer plant blast

President Obama and the first lady will attend a memorial Thursday for the those killed or injured in the fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas last week.

The president is expected to meet with victims and offer comfort to a grieving community.

The fire and explosion in West, just north of Waco, killed 15 people and injured 200 others.

Most of those killed were first responders, firefighters who rushed to the scene of the initial blaze.

A five block area surrounding the plant remains closed because of damage.

Investigators are still sifting through the rubble trying to determine the cause of the explosion.
