Judge recuses himself from Dakota County Attorney's lawsuit

A judge has removed himself from the case involving the Dakota County, and her lawsuit against Dakota County commissioners.

Dakota County Attorney Kim Watson is suing county commissioners over a two percent pay raise for her secretary of 10 years.

The board has denied the raise twice.

Watson says she has the power to grant the raise without the county's go-ahead.

County commissioners say their budget is extremely tight.

The county has been under a wage freeze, and has laid off several people.

No new hearing date has been set in the case.
