UPDATE: Sioux City Police confirm that they are searching for one gunman after an officer is injured

Sioux City Police Captain Mel Williams says that an officer was injured and wouldn't comment if the officer how the officer received the injury.

Williams does confirm that shots were fired.

DEA agents are stopping anyone who is coming south on west 3rd and searching their cars.

Police are searching for one gunman.

Officers urge people in the area near 4th and Myrtle to stay in their homes.

Sioux City Police say they are on Sioux City's west side for an active shooter situation.

DEA agents have guns drawn at West 3rd and Myrtle as back up.

Sioux City Police have a perimeter around Everett school closed to traffic.

As a precaution, Sioux City school officials say they've locked down all West High feeder schools.

But school officials say parents can still pick up their children from the feeder schools.
