Hundreds of Siouxlanders are now enrolled in a cancer study

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Hundreds of Siouxlanders answered the American Cancer Society's call and are now enrolled in a comprehensive cancer study.

701 people in Siouxland enrolled in the CPS3 or Cancer Prevention Study-3.

That means they filled out questionnaires and rolled up their sleeve for a blood draw and will answer follow up health questions over the next 20 to 30 years.

The goal is the learn more about what causes certain types of cancers with the hopes of preventing it.
