The Hard Rock Casino Hotel is on the fast track to completion.
By a 3-to-1 vote, Sioux City city council members approve a development agreement for the casino-hotel complex, tonight. They'll finalize the agreement at their June 3rd meeting.
Council member Rhonda Capron says developers will use $22-million in tax increment financing, which will be given to them in four installments. The timing of the payments will depend on the progress that's made through the four phases of construction.
Officials with the casino say they plan to start construction in July. Between now, and then, they plan to finish acquiring the private property they need.
