The Sioux City Hotel and Conference Center is being sold

An investment banking service, HVS Capital Corp. has been hired to sell the downtown Sioux City landmark.

A spokesman isn't revealing the asking price, but he says the hotel is being marketed as being close to the new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The hotel has 193-rooms, is 12 stories tall, and includes a 13,000 square feet meeting space.

It was originally built as a Hilton Inn in 1976.

In 2002, it became the Plaza and then later, the Clarion.

In 2011, it was sold and renamed the Sioux City Hotel and Conference Center.
