Sioux City celebrates Historic Preservation Week with events

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Sioux City is home to historic sites and buildings. That's why there's a whole week to celebrate it.

Jim Jung, Chair of Sioux City's Preservation Commission, said the goal of Historic Preservation Week is to bring awareness to the community's rich roots.

The Barstool Open will be held Saturday, May 4th on Historic 4th Street. Tee off is at noon and there's a wrap up part at 4:30pm.

The Siouxlandmark Loft Apartment tour is Sunday, May 5th from 1pm until 3pm.

National Train Day will be marked with an event at the Railroad Museum in Sioux City's Riverside neighborhood.
