Pierce Street was packed out with fire engines and firefighters from all three Siouxland states.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
If you ever wanted to get a closer look at a fire engine, Saturday night was your chance. Pierce Street was packed with fire engines from all over Siouxland.
Afterwards, the Orpheum Theater hosted a screening of the Burn Movie, a documentary about Detroit firefighters. All of the proceeds from the movie will buy equipment for that city's fire department.
"We can learn from each other, see what works on somebody else's rig, tactics, the way people do things. It's all a community and brotherhood and we all learn from each other," said Phil Marchand of Sioux City Fire & Rescue.
More than 300 people purchased tickets in advance for the movie at $15 a ticket, with firefighters hoping to have an additional 100 or so in walk-up sales.
