UPDATE: Wednesday hearing set for Jamal Dean's extradition from Texas

Posted:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

An extradition hearing is set for Jamal Dean.

He's the Sioux City man accused of shooting a police officer during a traffic stop last Monday.

The hearing is necessary because Dean didn't waive extradition after his arrest late last Friday night in southern Texas.

Bringing him back to Sioux City to face charges can't happen until after a court hearing.

That's now set for Wednesday afternoon in Nueces County, Texas.
