Trapped in car for a month, puppy survives on trash and cigars
Kia survived on trash in a fast food bag and old cigars while trapped in a car.
A 12-week-old puppy is making quite the recovery after being left alone in a car for a month.
Kia, the 12-week-old puppy, is sitting pretty now, but just days ago it was all about survival. Kia was left inside an abandoned Suburban that was towed to the Kansas City impound lot. She couldn't get out and only had trash in a fast food bag and old cigars to eat.
A lot employee spotted the pup in the dashboard of the car and called police. Police then turned Kia in to the Kansas City Pet Project.
Besides being dehydrated and underweight, Kia is expected to survive. Many have cursed the cool, rainy spring we've been having, but for Kia, the weather made all the difference.
Kia will stay with foster parents until she's healthy and will eventually be ready for adoption.
