Thune introduces an amendment to stop Corps from charging water users

Senator John Thune of South Dakota introduces an amendment to prevent the US Army Corps from charging users for water from the Missouri River.

The Corps plan is to restrict access to river water and charge users for water taken from reservoirs in the Dakotas and Montana.

In a statement, Thune calls their proposal an unprecedented power grab and says it would have negative impacts on individuals, tribes, businesses, and water systems in the Rushmore State.
