SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Sioux City Explorers ended their spring exhibition schedule with a 13-1 win over Lincoln Saturday afternoon at Lewis & Clark Park.
For the second day in a row, the X's bats were on fire, as the team pounded out 17 hits. They also had 17 Friday night in a win over Sioux Falls.
"17 hits last night, 17 hits again today, that's 34 hits. That's hard to do in two games," Manager Stan Cliburn said. "You know, it was everybody. It just wasn't one guy everybody contributed. And, you look at the overall picture, and I'm very pleased at this point."
"We've got a lot of tools," Anthony Kaskadden added. "A lot of good power hitters, gap-to-gap guys, a lot of speed on the bases. We're looking really good this year."
Following the game Cliburn said pitcher Richard Salazar is dealing with tendonitis in his shoulder. The decision to put him on the disabled list to start the season will be Monday or Tuesday.
Sioux City's home opener is May 16th against Sioux Falls.
