ONAWA, Iowa (KTIV) -

Galva, Iowa man is behind bars after a high speed chase with authorities through two Iowa counties.

The Ida County Sheriff's Department attempted to pull over 28-year-old Barry Young Friday afternoon.  Young was wanted on theft charges, for allegedly stealing packages off porches.

Authorities say Young led them south on Highway 175.  At one point six squad cars were involved in the pursuit.

Authorities say he was driving so erratically that numerous people had to drive onto shoulder of the road to avoid being hit.

The State Patrol says Young drove through a farm field, through the fence of cell phone tower, and into an Onawa, Iowa police car, with speeds reaching 120 miles per hour.

The chase eventually ended a few miles east of Onawa.   No one was injured.
