Camp Joy Hollow family day gives sneak peek of summer camp
On Sunday, kids got a chance to try out the rope course at Camp Joy Hollow.
WESTFIELD, Iowa (KTIV) -
Archery is just one of the activities some Siouxland girls will enjoy at summer camp this year.
On Sunday, families were invited out to Westfield, Iowa, to get a sneak preview of their summer fun at Camp Joy Hollow. Along with archery, kids will also get a chance to go through this obstacle course, and play a new version of dodge ball.
"You had to go through the middle, and then you had to switch the ropes and go through the other half. It's too confusing," said Jade Galles of Sioux City.
"We want the families to really be invested in the girls coming here. It's really good that the family is behind them coming here and they don't just send their kid to camp in the summer and say, 'Do what you want'," said Abbie Smith, camp director for Camp Joy Hollow.
Camp Joy Hollow is a camp for mainly for Girl Scouts, so families also had a chance to sample their famous cookies.
Even for those who don't join the scouts, the camp will be open for sessions that last up to six days. We've created a link for registration here.
