Memorial will be held to honor fallen law enforcement officers

Law enforcers put their lives on the line each day they go out.  And some have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

On Monday, many will pay tribute to those from Woodbury County and Sioux City.

Nine officers have died in the line of duty from the two departments since 1919.

The public is invited to a memorial service for those officers Monday at noon.

It will be held at the public safety memorial in the 600 block of Douglas Street.

Following the service, folks are also invited to check out the opening of the new "Hall of History" Museum, at the Sioux City police department.

The museum has photos and artifacts that shows the history of not only the police, but other law enforcement.
