Congressional opponents of the senate immigration reform bill are making their case
Congressional opponents of the senate immigration reform bill are making their case Tuesday.
One of those lawmakers is Iowa Congressman Steve King.
The group says the proposed overhaul violates respect for the rule of the law.
King says passing the legislation would only encourage more undocumented immigrants to come to America in the future.
Representative Steve King, (R) Iowa said, "If we reward people who break the law they're unlikely to raise their children to respect it. The rule of law at least with regard to immigration it would be destroyed."
The group also said the law would create new national security headaches and strain law enforcement resources.
