SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- -
Sioux City Bandits wide receiver Damon Mothershead has been named the offensive player of the week in the Champions Professional Indoor Football League.
The receiving corps for the Bandits has been hampered all season by injury, but Mothershead carried the load in the Bandits 56-6 victory over Mid-Missouri on Saturday.
Mothershead caught six passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the win. As proof of the receiving injuries for the Bandits, Mothershead leads the team in receptions with just 20 on the season.
Despite the injuries, the victory moved the Bandits to 6-2 on the year and they will look to further solidify their spot in the playoffs on Saturday against Lincoln. That game starts at 7:05 at the Tyson Events Center.
