One arrested, one hospitalized after car flees motorcycle crash

Two accident scenes in Sioux City Friday night were connected. The first was at 26th and Court Street. It involved a car and a motorcycle.

About 8:00pm, witnesses called 911 after they said a car went through a stop sign and struck a motorcycle on Court Street.

Police said the man driving the motorcycle was conscious when taken to a hospital, but there's no word on his condition.

Authorities said the car involved in the Court Street crash fled the scene. Police spotted it a few minutes later on Hamilton Boulevard near Stone Park Boulevard.

They said the driver took off and struck a tree in front of the Clifton Estates apartments. Police arrested the driver on traffic violations while they continue to investigate the night's events.
