The Sioux City Explorers pitching staff was knocked around Monday night, as the New Jersey
Jackals pounded out 17 hits in a 13-5 win.

X's starter Preston Olson lasted just four innings and gave up 8 hits and four runs.  He also walked three.

The Jackals got on the board in the first inning on back-to-back RBI singles Nick Giarraputo and Yasanberty Arbelo.

Down 4-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, pulled to within two following a two-run homer by Palmer Karr.

Karr finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

X's reliever Josh Poytress took the hill in the fifth but struggled as well giving up four runs in an inning and third of work.

The loss drops the X's to 3-2 on the season.  They're back at home Tuesday, to battle the Jackals at 11 a.m.
