An overnight fire sends one to the hospital in Sioux City

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

 

Sioux City Fire and Rescue crews were called to 2301 South Royce Street at 1:43 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Fire officials say smoke and flames were coming out from the front of the house when they arrived.

Two people and their pets were able to get out of the home safely and dial 911.

Officials say one person suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to a Sioux City hospital as a precaution.

The house was heavily damaged and has been red-tagged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
