The New Jersey Jackals beat Sioux City 9-6 on Tuesday, handing the X's their third straight loss.
Jeremy Barnes had two extra base hits, helping the New Jersey Jackals to a 9-6 victory over the Sioux City Explorers (3-3) on Tuesday at Lewis and Clark Park.
He homered in the first inning, tripled in the third innings, and singled in the fifth inning.
Isaac Pavlik picked up the win for the New Jersey Jackals. Pavlik pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out five.
Eliezer Mesa had three hits for the X's, who lost their third game in a row after starting the season with three straight wins. Mesa tripled in the sixth inning, doubled in the eighth inning, and singled in the ninth inning.
Josh Rainwater was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three. Sioux City reliever Jimmer Kennedy allowed just two hits and one earned run in three and two-thirds innings, walking none with four strikeouts.
The three game series ends on Wednesday at 7:05 at Lewis and Clark Park.
