Woodbury County American Legion Posts plan Memorial Day ceremonies

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Memorial Day ceremonies will take place across Siouxland on Monday, May 27.  The events honor our military men and women, as well as those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country.

The American Legion Posts in Woodbury County have announced events taking place in their communities.

In Sioux City, Legion members are hosting an event in Graceland Cemetery on Monday at 10:30am.

Memorial Day services will also be held at Memorial Park Cemetery at noon. The public is invited to attend these events.

The American Legion is also planning a flag retirement ceremony in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa during the month of June.

Woodbury County Legion members will be at the Sioux City Hy-Vee stores on June 8th to collect old American flags.

A formal flag disposal ceremony will be held at the Sergeant Bluff Legion Post 662 on June 14th.
