Spring is a time when many plant their gardens. But, for those that don't have the room, there's a new place you can plant in Sioux City.
Harvest, Incorporated, a Sioux City-based non-profit, owns these plots at Fitch Community Garden and Orchard on West 31st Street. Plot rental is based on income... along with a $25 refundable deposit.
The executive director of Harvest, Incorporated says she hopes the project brings people closer together. "I hope that we will see more people gardening. I hope that we will see more people coming together and meeting their neighbors as these gardens form," says Lauren Weiss, executive director of Harvest, Inc.
The garden will be dedicated Thursday night at 5:00pm.
