The Sioux City Explorers snapped a three game losing streak with a 12-4 win over the New Jersey Jackals on Wednesday night at Lewis and Clark Park.

After giving up two runs in the top of the first inning, Sioux City scored twice in the bottom of the first on a two-run homer from Peter Barrows. Eliezar Mesa added an RBI single in the second to give the X's a 3-2 advantage.

The Explorers trailed 4-3 in the fifth inning, but added three runs to take the lead for good. Sam Judah, a rookie outfielder from Auburn, hit his first professional homer to right field to tie the game at 4-4. Later in the fifth, Leugim Barroso singled to center with the bases loaded to bring home Peter Barrows, giving Sioux City a 5-4 lead. Adrian Martinez followed with another bases loaded single to bring in Palmer Karr and it was 6-4.

Jason Jarvis improved to 2-0 on the mound. The righthander gave up 11 hits and four runs in 6 1/3 innings of work, striking out two and walking one.

The X's (4-3) are off on Thursday before starting a three game home series with Sioux Falls on Friday night at 7:05.
