WATERLOO (KWWL) -
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the campground at George Wyth State Park will remain closed through the Memorial Day weekend due to flooding.
The DNR announced on Tuesday that the entire park would be closed until Saturday. Now, they say the park may re-open for day use on Monday, but the campground will be closed through the holiday weekend, and could remain closed until Wednesday.
Crews need to let the floodwater recede and then they need to check electrical boxes before re-opening.
Anyone with reservations during the affected days will receive refunds.
Status updates are available on the park phone system, 319-232-5505.
