Summer break has arrived for kids at Irving Elementary school

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

In Sioux City, Thursday marks the end of another school year.

Summer break has arrived for kids at Irving Elementary school and students across Sioux City.

After closing the books and cleaning out their desks, these kids have big plans for their summer vacation.

"I'm going to my grandma's for an Alaskan cruise," Jasmine Loyd said.

"I'm going to Mexico," Iliena Azpeitia said.

"Go play in the pools," Gabie Rivera said.

"Go swimming," Cassindra Munoc said.

Their gains in the Iowa Assessents, students made a giant sign on the fence facing Floyd Boulevard.

"Go Hawks" is for the Irving school mascot and each student added a cup if they showed improvement on their tests.
