The First Tee program teaches skills for golf and the game of life

Posted:

Woodbury County cut funding for The First Tee program, but that doesn't mean it won't be teaching kids about golf and the game of life.

The First Tee teaches social skills through the game of golf. It served about 250 kids last year. There are a few openings left as the organization prepares to kick off its summer session during the first part of June.

Organizers say they have enough funds for programs through November and then plan to look at other potential funding sources.

The group is holding a golf outing on July 19th at Green Valley golf course in Sioux City. Proceeds from that event will benefit the program.
