Centsable Health: Healthy snack options for summer travels


It seems as if we're always on the go and that's why many of us eat in our cars while traveling. There are some healthier options instead of a candy bar and a bag a chips from the gas station.

On Centsable Health, Fareway Foods Registered Dietitian Whitney Packebush shared some ideas on how to fuel up with healthy snacks when you're traveling.

To avoid blood sugar spikes and crashes (which result in cranky passengers) make sure to pair a carbohydrate with a protein for sustained energy.

  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Sliced bell peppers
  • Graham crackers
  • Whole grain crackers
  • Granola bars
  • Whole grain cereal
