PALO (KWWL) -
The City of Palo continues to prepare for flooding as they await the Cedar River to crest at 17 feet between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Officials say they will begin issuing voluntary evacuation notices to people living in the following area:
East end of Main Street, Drake Drive, Thompson Drive, Lincoln Drive, Church Street, 1st Street to Main Street, Linn Drive, Stephen Street, Denise Drive, Phil Lane and Dale Lee Drive.
With the information they have, officials believe these will be the only areas of town that will be impacted by flood water from the Cedar River. They do say that some others may be affected by ground water.
Sand and sandbags are available for residents at the City Maintenance Building.
City Hall will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. If you have questions, call City Hall at 319-851-2731.
