One person was saved from the floodwaters in Tama County after sheriff deputies say the driver ignored warning signs of the high water.

The car was swept away from the roadway in the Longpoint Landing area of the Iowa River, which is on T Avenue in Tama County.

Rescue crews had to use boats to reach the driver, but the man escaped without injures.

The driver, Colten Quigley, was issued a citation for failure to obey traffic control devices.
