Siouxland man faces charges for stealing vehicles in multiple counties
A Storm Lake, Iowa man is behind bars facing several charges after authorities say he stole multiple vehicles.
Authorities say 49-year-old James Thompson was arrested on May 31st by Pocahontas County deputies for driving a stolen SUV.
They say Thompson stole the vehicle from an Ida Grove car dealership.
During the investigation they say he stole a total of two trucks, a four wheeler and a car from three different counties.
They say he originally stole a Ford water truck from the Buena Vista County Raceway. He then allegedly drove that vehicle to a farm place near Palmer where he took a 4-wheeler and drove it to Varina. Authorities say in Varina, Thompson took a car from the Bass Repair Shop. He then allegedly took that car to Mark Hensen Motors in Ida Grove where he left it and drove off in the SUV he was found in.
He faces a charge of burglary and four counts of operating a motor vehicle without the owners consent.
