Centsable Health: Burger creations for Father's Day
If you want to treat "Dear Old Dad" to a good burger on Father's Day we've got some ideas for you. Adam Jeppeson, Fareway Foods meat expert shared these tips for better burgers.
Bacon Cheeseburger Burger: We've mixed pieces of precooked bacon and a high temperature cheddar in with the hamburger. High temperature cheese won't melt all over your grill. Fareway Foods offers several varieties at the meat counter in the store.
Ranch Burger: Dried onion with herbs and seasonings mixed in. It adds a lot of flavor to the beef.
Jalapeno & Hot Pepper Cheese Burger: Add sliced jalapeno and high temp pepper jack cheese to add a little spice to dad's burger.
Sliders are also a big hit. If you use 93% lean ground beef they won't shrink much when you cook them and stay at about 3 ounces. Use cocktails buns instead of full size hamburger buns.
The temperature for burgers or ground beef should be 165 degrees.
