Barry Manilow donates piano to Sioux City Schools


SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Sioux City children are getting a little gift from pop icon.

Barry Manilow announced he is helping kick off an instrument drive for Sioux City Schools by donating a new Yamaha Piano.

Manilow is also offering two tickets to his upcoming concert for anyone who brings a new or gently used instrument.

All the instruments will go to children who may not be able to afford the price of an instrument.

The school district is thrilled have such recognizable help.

"We are just excited and thrilled he is doing this it's a wonderful opportunity for us and the community," said Shirley Luebke, Head teacher of Music for Sioux City Public Schools.

To participate bring your instrument to the Tyson Event now through June 21st, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
